Laminate worktops are made with a core material which is manufactured from high density chipboard and so are relativley easy to install either by a local tradesman or if your comfortable with power tools and such you may want to fit the worktop yourself as normal carpenters tools and power tools are all you need for cutting and routing laminate kitchen worktops.
If you choose a laminate worktop for your kitchen, due to the chipboard core, you can only install an inset sink. You cannot install an undermount sink nor a Belfast sink.
